Pavat John the Overseer
Agreed with John Pavat to be overseer of the plantation of St Inigos on the following condition viz that he is to be allow’d a share in corn & tobacco and wheat for himself and a few before he goes a way; then, to be allow’d a share in corn for his negroé and to be [illegible] and levied for him- moreover the horses are to be accounted only one share and half a share for old Jenny both in corn and tobacco. The rest of the negroes to have a whole share both in corn, wheat and tobacco I shall place under him, he is to give hands to all proper plantation work [of increasing ?] haulling wood &. NB. Here is no mention of the overseers being allowed to feed his horse wich notwithstanding he did very well out of ye corn belonging to the house till ye first of April as pr agreement with Mr. Pulson, witness W. Cavenaugh who was present.
aggreed with Jn. Pavat for the following year 1744 according to the foregoing agreement with these alterations, he is to have 2 parcels of corn for his horse, negroe Jenny is to have a whole share & nothing to be allowed in wheat and negro Matthew is to be added for a share
