Description
On March 12, 2017, the New York Times published the only known photograph of a Georgetown University slave sold to Louisiana in the infamous 1838 sale. The man in the photograph, Frank Campbell, lived a long and fascinating life. In this podcast, Georgetown student Alex Mitchell (GU '18) explores the history of Frank Campbell and how this photo might affect efforts for memorialization of the GU272. The podcast features interviews with Clifton Theriot, the man who discovered the photograph, along with Georgetown history professor Adam Rothman, and Campbell descendant, Earlene Campbell-Coleman.
